Registries: Guiding principles before, during and after their creation

Registries are driven by the goal of addressing broad objectives such as improving the quality of care, advancing knowledge, and enhancing clinical practices. The various types of registries and their respective motivations will be outlined, followed by a discussion of rules and recommendations that can be broadly applied. Finally, the speaker will share valuable insights and experiences from the Geneva Arthroplasty Registry, which has been in existence for almost 30 years.

This seminar session will provide information about the aim, creation, and use of registries in human research. Furthermore, it will share experiences from a well-established example registry.
